After I wrote the loom article final week, it occurred to me that the method of software program improvement isn’t any completely different. And thus, to enhance it, we must always discover the bottleneck, work out a solution to make it not the bottleneck, and repeat.
And it appears apparent to me that the precise coding of the appliance is the slim, high-pressure level within the software program improvement pipeline. In a course of stuffed with friction, writing the code is often the bottleneck that determines when a venture will get completed.
So what occurs if writing code ceases to be the bottleneck? Nicely, I believe we’re nearly there with agentic coding, no? For the sake of argument, and to maintain this column rolling, let’s assume that such is the case. Let’s take it as granted that writing code turns into one thing that occurs over days and weeks, and never weeks, months, and even years.
