Visible Studio Code 1.108, the newest model of Microsoft’s popular code editor, introduces help for Agent Abilities, a brand new characteristic that enables customers to show the GitHub Copilot coding agent new capabilities and supply domain-specific information.
VS Code 1.108, also called the December 2025 launch, arrived January 8. Builders can entry it for Home windows, Linux, and Mac from code.visualstudio.com.
An experimental characteristic, Agent Abilities are folders of scripts, directions, and sources that GitHub Copilot can load when related to carry out specialised duties, in line with Microsoft. Abilities are saved in directories with a SKILL.md file that defines the talent’s conduct and robotically detected from the .github/expertise folder. They’re then loaded on-demand into the chat context when related for the developer’s request.
